Course Description:

A 2-day course  provides the participants a review of concepts and principles in the care of clients with varied and complex biologic crises in acute care areas .it covers the basic Knowledge, Skills and Attitude of a critical care practitioner in a critical care setting. The structure of this course will be a series of didactic lectures and skills demonstration .At the end of the course these are the objectives the critical care nurse practitioner should achieve:

  1. Apply concepts of Holistic care to patient , family and significant others
  2. Assess hemodynamic status of clients in biologic crisis promptly and efficiently
  3. Integrate acquired critical care concepts and evidence-based practices in the care of clients
  4. Demonstrate ability to detect early and manage sudden or acute deterioration of patient's condition.
  5. Set various accepted parameters for invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring
  6. Utilize the nursing process in analyzing, interpreting and planning interventions for patient care.
  7. Apply infection control measures in the care of clients & patient's environment
  8. Demonstrate professional behaviors befitting a critical care practitioner

 

Target audience:

All critical care nurses in GICU, CCU, Recovery Room, Accident & Emergency area, Graduate Nurses & Nursing Intern , Registered Nurses.
