Course Description:
This course explores an information management framework to focus on the standards, advancements and challenges involved in data life cycle from data acquisition at the point of care to information management and knowledge generation as it pertains to Critical care.
Complexity of care processes, high cost of care, severity of illness, criticality of outcome, enormity of data and importance of information and communication in clinical decision making are factors that make Critical Care and ideal but challenging environment in which we can exploit information technology and explore its benefits

clinical information system projects. The purpose of this course is to
raise awareness and engagement of the audience in making the best use
of existing or prospective information technology in critical care and
increase chances of success.
